Yesterday after I updated the blog I went back into the city of Timisoara and did a little more exploring. I ate a Romanian version of a hotdog that was very good - sweet mustard! It's a beautiful city.
Took a 5 hour train to Sibiu (Transylvania!) and had the unfortunate chance to sit by a Romanian guy who talked my ear off for three hours. (The first two hours he hadn't yet discovered that I spoke English. This trip is very interesting - when I was in Europe two years ago everyone I met said they could tell I was American from a mile away. During this trip, however, at least a dozen people in all the countries start speaking their language to me and are startled when I only speak English. The only difference - my bangs! Apparently now I look much more European.) The conversation was intriguing in the beginning - he was telling me what it was like before and then after the revolution in Romania. As the hours went by, though, he just went on and on about himself...that train trip had never lasted so long! By the end he thought it was funny to try and scare me about vampires in Romania. Ugh.
