Belgrade, Serbia 8/13/09

Yesterday (8/13/09) the Drs. L (Laura and Lauren) and I continued our exploration of Belgrade. We made it to the Sava Temple (Sveti Sava) which is the largest Orthodox church in the world. It is located on the site where the Turks supposedly burnt the remains of St. Sava, founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the youngest son of a 12th century ruler. They are actually still working on the church, so inside has gigantic scaffolding and lots of marble slabs.

After wandering through Belgrade's largest market we headed back to the hostel to part ways. My friends were going to Greece while I had a train to catch to Romania!
